Back in early 2017, Lancome released a uniquely packaged rose highlighter that generated a ton of buzz in the beauty community. So for Holiday 2018, a new and limited edition of the La Rose À Poudrer is now available. Packaged in the same stunning format, the La Rose À Poudrer Iridescent Gold Highlighter ($80 CAD for 1.9 g) is a festive warm gold highlighter. To read my review and see some swatches, click......
Packaging:
The La Rose À Poudrer comes in a lightweight cylindrical box made of construction paper. The outside is wrapped in a shiny foil finish and the lid is embedded with gold glitters along its side. Inside the box is a large yet intricate rose made of a stiff paper or fabric material. Each petal is coated in a thick layer of powder; the powder is tightly fused to the petals so there's virtually no dusting or fallouts. To use, simply tap a loose powder brush against the petals to pick up some highlighter. I wouldn't say the packaging is impractical but for everyday use, a standard compact would certainly be more efficient. The entire flower holds only 1.9 g of product; it is a very small amount but considering the nature of the design, this is definitely more of a collector's item.
Formulation:
With a nice and silky texture, the La Rose À Poudrer is a beautiful warm gold shimmer with a subtle hint of orange copper. The highlighter has a nice and sophisticated sheen and it contains zero sparkles. The powder is easily blendable for a subtle glow but it can also be layered for a more intense effect. Overall, this is a very pretty warm gold highlighter. I would actually like to see it in a standard compact powder format simply for the ease of application but the La Rose À Poudrer version is certainly stunning to look at!
