Chanel Holiday 2018 | Le Lion de Chanel Illuminating Powder |
Chanel Holiday 2018 | Le Lion de Chanel Illuminating Powder ($80 CAD for 8 g):
Pressed with a minimalist, geometric design of a lion's head, the Le Lion de Chanel Illuminating Powder is a pretty golden champagne highlighter. With a fine, baked texture, the powder is nicely pigmented and lightweight. Depending on how much you apply, the powder provides either a subtle warm sparkle or an intense golden sheen. On my lighter skin tone, the color is a bit too golden for everyday wear (especially since I like to wear cool-tone pink blushes) but it's definitely appropriate for the holiday season. However, the shade would definitely work well, no matter the occasion, for those with a warm medium skin tone.

Chanel Holiday 2018 | Ombre Premiere Eyeshadow in "907 Cuivre Lamé" & "908 Noir Lamé" | Le Lion de Chanel Illuminating Powder |
Chanel Holiday 2018 | Ombre Premiere Eyeshadow in "907 Cuivre Lamé" & "908 Noir Lamé" ($45 CAD for 2.5 g):
Adorned with the same lion's head design, the Ombre Premiere Eyeshadows are available in four shades as a part of the Holiday 2018 Collection. "
907 Cuivre Lamé" is a deep and rich copper brown infused with subtle golden sparkles while "
908 Noir Lamé" is a carbon black with just a hint of satin shimmers. Both shades have a silky baked texture. There's a considerable amount of fallout as the formulation is very loose but the pigmentation is just phenomenal. Nevertheless, I recommend using these with a good primer or a cream shadow base.

Chanel Holiday 2018 | La Palette Caractere Lipstick Collection |
Chanel Holiday 2018 | La Palette Caractere Lipstick Collection ($90 CAD for 7.5 g):
Housed in a sleek black and gold compact, the La Palette Caractere this year features five lip colors instead of eyeshadows. You get a satin bright coral orange, a satin bright red, a pigmented matte berry, a semi-sheer burgundy red, and a semi-sheer dark brown with a hint of red. I'm honestly not a fan of lip palettes but this one is not too bad. Most of the shades are buildable to a mostly full coverage and they feel comfortable and hydrating on the lips. Moreover, Chanel has included two double-sided lip brushes that are actually very well-made. The brush head is a bit fluffier than I would have liked but it picks up plenty of product so you don't have to dip and re-dip it back into the pan.

Chanel Holiday 2018 | Le Vernis in "918 Flamboyance" (Left) & "917 Opulence" (Right) |
Chanel Holiday 2018 | Le Vernis in "917 Opulence" & "918 Flamboyance" ($33 CAD for 13 ml):
Two new shades of the Le Vernis nail polish are included in this collection. "
917 Opulence" is a brown shimmer with a subtle green-blue sheen. The duochrome effect is a lot more obvious in the bottle but on the nails, it's barely visible. The formulation is pretty sheer and streaky but two coats provide a mostly opaque coverage. "
918 Flamboyance" is a rich festive red scattered with a dash of red sparkles. The formulation on this one is just top notch. Pigmented and creamy, the color is opaque in just one coat but I used two just in case.
