Packaging:
The Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter comes in a simple black compact embossed with raised, silver letterings. The compact comes with no mirror and instead has a clear window on the lid that lets the color inside peek through. The pan looks rather large but because the highlighter has more of a baked formulation, there are actually only 5.2 g of product, which isn't too bad but much less than expected.
Formulation:
With a lightweight, baked texture that feels smooth and silky, the Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter is made with three different components: "a tinted, glittering base, ultra-fine micro-glitters, and magnified glitter crystals". The trio results in super sparkly, iridescent sheen. The effect is not chunky but it's definitely not intended for those looking for a subtle glow. The highlighter is available in five different shades and I got here "
Gravitron", a soft pale gold and pink shimmer, and "
Stephonik", a pearly icy blue. Both shades are surprisingly wearable despite looking a little odd in the pan and they also work well as shimmery eyeshadow toppers. Overall, this is a fun highlighter that's creamy and packed with shimmers. The effect may not be for everyone but if you are looking for something sparkly and eye-catching, definitely check these out!
