Sunday Riley | Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment: Review
A cult-favorite and award-winner, the Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment ($135 CAD for 30 ml) remains one of the bestselling AHA exfoliants on the market. Formulated with a high concentration of lactic acid designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation, Good Genes promises a smoother, more radiant complexion. I've finally had a chance to give this treatment a full test-drive so I want to share with you my review today. To read on, click......
Sunday Riley | Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment: Review
Sunday Riley | Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment
Formulated with high-potency, purified lactic acid that exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells, Sunday Riley Good Genes has a thin, serum-like texture that easily spreads and absorbs into the skin. Although the exact percentage of lactic acid is not disclosed, the formulation feels pretty concentrated. When I applied about one and a half pump all over toned skin, I experienced some temporary redness and since I use AHAs on a regular basis, the formulation must be quite potent. As a result, I have been using one pump of the treatment mixed with a few of the other serums that I am currently using to prevent redness and sensitivity.

The formulation has no discernable fragrance and it's packed with a plethora of skin-loving botanical extracts such as lemongrass, prickly pear, licorice, and aloe. I love that Good Genes contains no drying alcohol and very little silicones so it doesn't feel drying or heavy on the skin. It leaves no palpable residue but a good moisturizer should be followed to ensure hydration. Since using it every day for a few weeks now, I've noticed smoother and brighter skin. I can't say that it's significantly more effective than other AHA exfoliants I've tried in the past (ex. Pixi Overnight Glow Serum, Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum) but the formulation just feels superior and more luxurious on the skin. The price tag is certainly hefty but I think if you are willing to invest, this is probably the best AHA treatment on the market!
