Chanel | Fall & Winter Collection Apotheosis Les 4 Ombres in "312 Quiet Revolution" ($70 CAD for 2g):
With four matte eyeshadows, the Les 4 Ombres in "
312 Quiet Revolution" includes a soft taupe-gray, a dark, dusty teal, a deep, intense azure blue, and a dark brown granite. In terms of formulation, the taupe and the azure are surprisingly creamy and pigmented. The blue is a bit fallout-prone but both shades feel velvety-smooth and apply fairly evenly. The dark teal and the granite, on the other hand, are a little patchy. They went hard pan pretty quickly and are hard to build on the lids. Nevertheless, they work fine when blended lightly as crease or outer corner colors. It's worth noting that the Les 4 Ombres in this collection comes in a matte black compact which is quite nice. In comparison to the classic lacquer black packaging, these are much more resistant to fingerprints and smudges so they look presentable even after repeated handling.

Below is a look I created using the "
312 Quiet Revolution" quad. I like the color combination but I do feel the palette could have easily replaced the granite with a creamy ivory that can be used for the brow bone and inner corner. I ended up not using the granite as the dark teal provided enough intensity in the crease but I did require a matte ivory eyeshadow from another palette to complete the look. I also used the Stylo Ombres et Contour comes in "
10 Contour Sombre" (see below) for the upper lashline.

Advertised as a multi-purpose cream eyeshadow, eyeliner, and khol pencil, the Stylo Ombres et Contour comes in three shades. "
10 Contour Sombre" is a soft carbon black and "
12 Contour Clair" is a soft taupe brown. The formulation is very creamy and evenly pigmented but the longevity is lacking. Unless topped with a powder shadow, the colors easily smudge and transfer. These work best as cream base colors but as someone who can't even be bothered with eyeshadow primers, I just don't see myself using them a lot.

A matte version of the popular Le Rouge Jumbo Longwear Lip Crayons, "
261 Excess" is a stunning cool-tone red that almost leas a bit pink. The formulation is super pigmented, velvety, and hydrating. The color is opaque in one swipe and there is no bleeding or creasing. The natural matte finish is not transfer-proof but the color will last through a light meal. Five other shades are available in this range.
