Summer is in full swing so today I want to share with you some bestselling
Beautycounter products that promise to help you look your best under the sun. The
Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage ($56 CAD) is a long time favorite tinted moisturizer that provides an SPF of 20 while the
Color Intense Lipstick ($42 CAD) is a range of high-pigment lipsticks that's hydrating and minty fresh. To read my review of everything and see some swatches, click......

Beautycounter | Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage SPF 20 ($56 CAD for 40ml):
Packaged in a squeeze tube equipped with an airless pump, Dew Skin is advertised as a tinted moisturizer "super-charged with SPF protection". Formulated with 14% zinc oxide, blackcurrant extract, peony flower root extract, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid (see full ingredient list
here), the product has a consistency similar to a rich day cream. In terms of coverage, Dew Skin is extremely sheer. I have here shade "No.1", the lightest of five that's suitable for pale to light skin. The moisturizer looks pigmented straight out of the tube but once it's blended, it provides barely any coverage. It very subtly evens the skin tone but the finish is greasy. The product may look "dewy" on dry skin but on my oily-combination skin, the sheen is undesirable. In fact, the formulation leaves behind such a slick and shiny finish, I actually had to blot first before setting it with powder.

I also tried using this as a primer underneath foundation. However, because the formulation slides easily on the skin, the finish is not smooth enough to work as a base. So overall, this is not a product for me. The SPF protection is music to my ears but the formulation is simply too sheer and heavy for my oily, acne-prone skin. With that said, if you have dry skin and want a very sheer tinted moisturizer that also provides sun protection, then this one might be worth looking into.

Beautycounter | Color Intense Lipstick in "Girls' Night" & "Little Black Dress" |
Beautycounter | Color Intense Lipstick ($42 CAD for 3.4 g each):
Available in eight shades, the Color Intense Lipstick is a super pigmented lipstick housed in a classy metallic blue case embossed with stylish black stripes. The formulation contains jojoba and peppermint oil so not only is it moisturizing, it also gives the lips a soft, cooling sensation. In terms of pigmentation, the Color Intense Lipsticks stay true to their name. The supersaturated colors are opaque in one swipe but because the formulation is so slick and slippery, I found it difficult to get a very clean application without using a lip liner. The finish is extremely moisturizing and shiny but the color is prone to transferring and smudging. I prefer a slightly thicker, "drier" formulation for cream lipsticks but nevertheless, this is a nice, hydrating range that packs a serious punch of color. "
Girls' Night" is a bright red that leans just a tad on the warmer side and "
Little Black Dress" is a stunning muted rose.
