Jouviance is a dermatologist-developed Canadian skincare company. Housed in a 220 ml double-layered plastic jar, the Jouviance Hydractive Coconut Melting Balm is a multi-use coconut balm made with coconut oil and sodium hyaluronate. With a low melting temperature of 26°C, the balm is solid at room temperature but melts upon contact with skin, turning into a lightweight oil that glides smoothly and absorbs efficiently into the skin. Jouviance recommends using the balm as a hair moisturizer, sleeping face mask, lip balm, hair oil, and pre-shampoo hair mask. However, because I have combination skin and oil-prone scalp and roots, I've been mainly using this for the body.
Ingredients: Organic coconut oil (50% cold-pressed, non-hydrogenated, non-deodorized and 50% of the first pressure and deodorized by steam), oleic/linoleic/linolenic polyglycerides, sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, aqua.
The rich yet lightweight texture provides instant hydration and my skin remains soft and moisturized all day. Additionally, the balm has a subtle and natural coconut scent that makes the application experience even more enjoyable. Overall this is a great coconut oil moisturizer elevated by the addition of sodium hyaluronate and plant-based fatty acids. The rich, melt-upon-contact formulation is ultra-luxurious although it does get a little messy in the summertime as the melting point is so low. Nevertheless, if you looking for a nourishing yet non-greasy body moisturizer, definitely give the Jouviance Hydrativ Coconut Melting Balm a try!
