Azzaro | Chrome Under The Pole Eau de Toilette ($95 CAD for 100ml):
Created in partnership between Azzaro and the Under The Pole polar expeditions program "dedicated to pushing the human limits of undersea exploration", Chrome Under The Pole is a limited edition summer fragrance designed to embody the fresh and chilling feel of freedom. With its alcohol content completely replaced by water, the perfume liquid actually has a milky tint. The scent opens with a refreshing citrus accord but it's immediately enveloped by a green, woody musk. It's super cool and refreshing and it reminds me of what I imagine a carefree, nomadic sailor smells like (a sophisticated one that built his own boat, of course). Although not made with any particular aquatic or beachy notes, Chrome Under The Pole definitely smells like a summer beach scent. So if you enjoy the smell of the ocean and like something cool and light, then this is your scent!
Montblanc | Legend Night ($87 CAD for 50ml or $107 CAD for 100ml):
Housed in a sturdy yet elegant amber bottle, Montblanc Legend Night is described as a magnetic woody fragrance that's masculine, charismatic, and mysterious. The scent opens with a quick flash of sharp bergamot but quickly mellows to reveal a warm, sweet, and spicy accord that's both comforting and masculine. Generally, men's fragrances are either too cool and austere or too light and unisex but Legend Night strikes the perfect balance. It's definitely a men's scent yet it's very inviting and alluring. There's a lot of depth to the fragrance so the overall scent profile is well-rounded. I haven't reviewed a lot of men's fragrances in the past but this is definitely one of my favorites in recent memory. If you love a warm woody scent that's lightly sweet yet fresh, then definitely check this out!
Rocky Mountain Barber Company | Firm Hold Hair Texture Paste ($15.99 CAD for 56g) & Sandalwood Hair Comb ($22.99 CAD):
Rocky Mountain Barber Company is a Canadian brand specializing in men's grooming product and two of their products were included with the Montblanc fragrance when it arrived in the mail so I thought I'd share them here as I am very impressed with the quality of their Sandalwood Hair Comb. With a slight curve along the spine for an ergonomic hold and two different teeth width, this wooden comb is designed to tame even the wildest beard or hair. I love my regular hair brush but something about running a sturdy, well-made wooden comb through my hair feels so satisfying to me. Also pictured is Rocky Mountain Barber Company's Hair Texture Paste designed to provide a strong yet flexible hold when styling the hair.
