Known for its bestselling Water Sleeping Mask and Lip Sleeping Mask (reviewed
here),
LANEIGE is expanding its overnight skincare ritual with the new
Eye Sleeping Mask ($44 CAD). Formulated with a refreshing and invigorating combination of caffeine, vitamin P, and beta-glucans, this overnight eye treatment promises to "deeply hydrate and de-puff tired-looking eyes". To learn more and read my review of the product, click......
Packaging:
The Eye Sleeping Mask from LANEIGE comes in a hefty frosted glass bottle tinted with a pretty blue ombre design. The bottle is equipped with a round, ceramic-tipped applicator. To apply, dot the applicator along the eye contours and blend with your fingers. The ceramic applicator feels very nice and cooling on the skin but due to its smallish, rounded shape, it's only good for applying the product but not actually massaging it into the skin. I personally would have preferred a dropper applicator as the ceramic tip needs to make contact with the skin and is therefore not as sanitary.
Formulation:
Made with hesperidin (also known as vitamin P, a citrus-derived ingredient that promotes blood circulation), caffeine, beta-glucan (moisturizing agent extracted from oat cell wall), yeast extract, and quinoa seed extract, the Eye Sleeping Mask is a leave-on eye mask with a lightweight gel texture similar to that of a liquid serum. The product doesn't have much of a scent and it absorbs nicely without leaving a sticky or tightening residue. The formulation does contain silicone so the mask is only suitable for nighttime use. If used under concealer or foundation during the day, the mask will pill and interfere with makeup application.
Despite being so lightweight, the Eye Sleeping Mask is surprisingly hydrating. The formulation keeps the eye area nourished and softened but never heavy or greasy. The incorporation of caffeine and vitamin K reduces puffiness so if you get baggy undereyes in the morning, then this is a great option. Overall, the LANEIGE Eye Sleeping Mask is a great everyday eye treatment. The formulation may not be rich enough for those with mature skin but for most people in their teens, 20s, and mid-30s, it provides just the right amount of hydration, de-puffing, and nourishment.
