Packaging:
The La Prairie White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire comes in a stunning 60ml jar equipped with a unique pump dispenser. The flip-top cap is magnetically shut and when opened up, it reveals a small mirror on the inside. To dispense the cream, simply press down on the inverted button and one "dose" of the White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire rises from the small opening. The packaging is essentially a modified version of the increasingly popular press-to-dispense jar but it's executed in a far more luxurious fashion. Everything feels super extravagant although I do find that a single pump (or "dose") is far less than enough to cover my entire face. La Prairie specifically instructs to use only one pump as the formulation is concentrated but it's physically impossible for me to cover my entire face (let alone my neck as well) with just one pump so I use at least two instead.

Formulation:
Described as a "lavish cream infused with a potent brightening serum", the La Prairie White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire contains Lumidose, a powerful brightening agent selected and patented by La Prairie after screening 50,000 other ingredients. By inhibiting melanin production, Lumidose promises to visibly reduce age spots and discolorations. Additionally, the cream is formulated with the La Prairie Golden Caviar Extract, wrinkle-smoothing peptides, shea butter, ginseng, seaweed, date, licorice, and yeast ferment for added skin refinement and nourishment.

In terms of formulation, the cream feels just divine. With a soft floral fragrance, the White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire is rich yet lightweight texture. It glides beautifully across the skin and melts quickly without leaving behind a greasy or heavy finish. The formulation does contain both dimethicone (fifth ingredient) and denatured alcohol (ninth ingredients) but given the indescribably smooth and comforting texture, I'm totally willing to overlook that. La Prairie recommends using the cream for both day and night and although I agree that the cream is light enough for day wear, I've only been using it at nighttime as 1 ml literally costs $15! Granted, one pump is probably only a third or a quarter of a milliliter but still, this is one expensive cream that I want to savor for as long as possible.

Quite honestly, I'm not the best candidate for attesting the brightening effect of this product as I don't have a lot of age spots or discoloration. However, I still noticed an improvement when it came to my overall complexion. Not only does my skin feel perfectly hydrated and supple in the morning, it just looks better. There are more radiance and translucency and my complexion appears more youthful. I don't want to sound like I'm justifying the $900 price tag but this is probably the best face cream I've tried. So there you have it, I love this face cream! $900 is certainly out of my price range at this point in time but if you have the funds to spare, then this is a worthy investment.
