Known for its bold and vibrant prints, renowned Finnish design house Marimekko has partnered up with Clinique this spring to create a handful of eye-catching, specially-packaged products. Drawing upon ten archival prints created by Marimekko artist Annika Rimala in the '60s and '70s, this limited edition line-up is a celebration of all things colorful and fun. Packaging:
Housed in a chubby lipgloss tube with a traditional doe-foot applicator, each of the 20 shades features a unique Marimekko print on the colored cap. Overall, the packaging is definitely unique, the bold and colorful pop art prints feel both retro and modern at the same time.
Formulation:
Described as an "ultra-hydrating, non-sticky" lip gloss, the new Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration is formulated with extracts of watermelon, lentil, and apple. There are a total of 20 shades but the color variation is not great. Given that the formulation is on the sheer-medium side, a lot of the colors look quite similar on the lips. The glosses are lightweight and shiny. The finish isn't tacky but once the color wears off within a couple of hours, the product does leave behind a sticky, slightly drying feeling. Overall, these glosses are not particularly innovative. However, if you are a fan of lip glosses and colorful presentation, then the packaging alone makes these collection-worthy!

03 Sorbet Pop: Semi-sheer caramel beige with very subtle pearly sparkles.
04 Latte Pop: Sheer beige brown.
05 Bubbly Pop: Very sheer light beige with subtle pearly sparkles. This shade is very similar to Caramel Pop.
08 Tenderheart: Semi-sheer dusty rose.
11 Air Kiss: Super sheer creamy nude with subtle shimmers.
15 Fireberry: Sheer berry mauve with subtle shimmers.
18 Pinot Pop: Fairly pigmented deep berry pink.
20 Sangria Pop: Vampy wine red that's quite patchy and uneven.
