Last Christmas, Too Faced put out a limited edition mint chocolate scented Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($25 CAD) called "Candy Cane" and I completely fell in love. And to my delight, the brand has created a brand new scented holiday shade this year called "Gingerbread Man". I've got some swatches and a review to share with you today. To read on, click......
Packaging:
The limited edition Melted Matte in "Gingerbread Man" comes in a very special packaging. The body of the liquid lipstick is the same as the original Melted Matte but the cap is brown instead of gold. Printed on top are tiny little gingerbread men, which are super cute and festive. The lip color comes with a doe foot applicator. It has a fairly standard design but it provides a nice and precise application.
Formulation:
The Melted Matte in "Gingerbread Man" is a unique warm gingerbread brown. The liquid formulation applies like a cream and sets to a completely matte and transfer-proof finish. This limited edition shade also features an irresistible gingerbread scent. I don't know how Too Faced does it, but like the mint chocolate scented "Candy Cane" Melted Matte from last Christmas, the gingerbread scent for "Gingerbread Man" is spot on! It really makes the lip color so much more special and festive.
In addition to the smooth formulation, "Gingerbread Man" is pigmented and opaque. One swipe provides the perfect coverage so the finish is very lightweight. The lipstick does get a little drying after a while but it has a great wear. Unless you eat a lot of oily food, the lipstick will stay smudge-proof until you take it off with an oil-based makeup remover.
Overall, this is a unique warm brown liquid lipstick. Although the color is not quite my cup of tea, the formulation is amazing and the gingerbread scent is to die for!

Overall, this is a unique warm brown liquid lipstick. Although the color is not quite my cup of tea, the formulation is amazing and the gingerbread scent is to die for!
