Just relaunched last year, the
Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation is getting an update this fall with the new
Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation ($60 CAD). Formulated with the "Guerlain Aqua Plump" technology, this is a light-coverage hydrating foundation that promises an effortless, beautiful complexion. I've got a detailed review and some before and after swatches to share with you so to read on, click......
Packaging:
The Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation comes in a squeezable plastic bottle paired with a convenient nozzle dispenser. Although the packaging is super practical, the light beige and black design still gives the packaging a chic and elegant feel.
Formulation:
Available in nine shades, the Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation is a water-infused, sheer coverage foundation formulated with an SPF 20 sun protection. Designed for "targeting water channels and distributing water evenly over the surface of the skin", the foundation has a lightweight and runny texture. Whenever foundations have the word "water" in its name, I get a little worried because their formulation tends to be super thin and clingy. However, I am seriously impressed with how smoothly the foundation glides over my pores and fine lines. Instead of settling and accentuating every imperfection, the pigments spread evenly and provide a very natural coverage. In fact, this performs a lot better in terms of texture as compared to the original Lingerie de Peau Foundation (reviewed
here).
Although the pigmentation is on the lower end of the spectrum, the foundation still manages to camouflage blemishes and improve my overall complexion. It evens out most of my discolorations and blemishes, creating a surprisingly matte finish that lasts like a champ. Fragranced with the classic Guerlain floral scent, the foundation wears beautifully. There are some minimal fading around the T-Zone but aside from that, the formulation does not settle or cake. Also, even though the formulation is targetted towards those with normal to dry skin, it did not make my oily skin look shinier than it normally would. Even after a long day, my skin looked and felt fresh and hydrated. With that said, the formulation does oxidize noticeably so I would definitely go for a lighter shade to accommodate the color change.
I have swatched on my hand "
01W Very Light Warm", a rather neutral light ivory, and "
02N Light", a light beige with a cool undertone. 01W oxidizes noticeably; it basically turns into what 02N looks like in the hand swatch. 02N also oxidizes, but it only turns a hint darker.
Overall, this is a great foundation from Guerlain! Even though I usually prefer a higher coverage formulation, I was impressed with how this smoothed out imperfections and wore without noticeable settling or creasing. If you are on the market for an everyday natural coverage foundation, definitely check this out!
