Inspired by the lively Parisian bohemian spirit of the 1920s, the
Guerlain Holiday 2017 Collection is nothing short of dazzling. With each piece lacquered in gold and glam, the collection is an ode to the era of lavish parties and art deco. To see some swatches and read my reviews of the Meteorites Gold Pearls and the Gold Light Topcoat Mascara, click......

Guerlain Holiday 2017 Meteorites Gold Pearls ($72 CAD):
Housed in a spherical, bauble-like jar coated in a shiny gold finish, the Meteorites Gold Pearls is a limited edition version of the iconic Guerlain Meteorites Pearls. Containing 20g of product, this brightening finishing powder is made of four distinctly colored pearls: warm gold, pale gold, champagne, and white.

The four shades blend to form a brightening translucent veil scattered with subtle sparkles of gold and iridescence. The formulation is heavily scented with the classic Guerlain floral fragrance and it's lightweight and ultra-silky. When worn over makeup, the powder provides a soft blurring and mattifying effect. It illuminates the complexion but there aren't any super chunky glitters. With that said, this holiday version is definitely a little sparklier than the original Meteorite Pearls lineup. Below is a hand swatch of the powder applied with a brush. As you can see, the powder provides virtually no pigmentation. If you click on the image to enlarge, you can spot some subtle hints of shimmer.

Guerlain Holiday 2017 | Gold Light Topcoat Mascara |
Guerlain Holiday 2017 Gold Light Topcoat Mascara ($30 CAD):
A multi-purpose gold mascara, the Gold Light Topcoat is designed to be used over lashes, brows, and hair to add a little extra glitz and glam to your look. The formulation consists of a clear gel base and some bright gold micro-glitters. Unfortunately, I think the topcoat is just too sheer. The glitters barely show up even after several coats and only when you look at them from certain angles do the sparkles come alive. Overall, this one is just too pricey for what it is although the idea is neat for the holiday times.

Below is the Guerlain Gold Light Topcoat worn over a black mascara. I used at least five layers but as you can see, the glitters are barely visible. They do show up a little more when viewed from the side though.
