Packaging:
The Hello Sanfrancisglow Highlighter Kit comes in an adorable metal tin shaped like a festive snowglobe. The dome-shaped lid is printed with a colorful, psychedelic depiction of the San Francisco cityscape and it lifts off completely to reveal four mini-sized Benefit highlighting products and a travel-sized powder brush. Both High Beam and Shy Beam (4ml) come in small plastic bottles equipped with a brush applicator. Watt's Up! (2.8g) comes in a small plastic compact and Dandelion Twinkle (1.5g) is embedded within the kit's foam insert.

The overall packaging is very adorable and because the insert is removable, the tin can be reused for other purposes. With that said, I would have preferred it if the Dandelion Twinkle powder came in its own plastic compact, similar to that of Watt's Up!. Unless you depot it from the foam insert, it's kind of inconvenient to reach as it needs to be kept inside the tin until it's fully used up.

Benefit Hello San Francisglow Highlighter Kit | Dandelion Twinkle |
Dandelion Twinkle:
A pressed highlighter that's supposedly a deluxe sample of the Benefit Dandelion Twinkle (reviewed
here), this powder highlighter is completely different from the original. Instead of a silky, buttery pink champagne sheen, this version of the Dandelion Twinkle has a warmer ivory color and a rougher texture. The powder isn't chalky or patchy but it's certainly not as high quality as the original and instead of providing a gorgeous, high-shine glow, it has more of a satin finish dispersed with fine, subtle sparkles.
I can't say that I'm too surprised with this blatant discrepancy as past Benefit holiday sets have had similar issues. I don't think that this is a bad highlighter by any means but if you are hoping to get a taste of the real Dandelion Twinkle, you'll be sorely disappointed.

High Beam:
Probably one the original Benefit bestsellers, High Beam is a liquid highlighter with a pearly pink sheen. The liquid-to-powder formulation is pigmented and easy-to-blend. It gives a flattering cool-tone highlight that's free of chunky glitters or overly flashy shimmers. This one definitely deserves a place in this kit!

Benefit Hello San Francisglow Highlighter Kit | Shy Beam, High Beam & Watt's Up! |
Shy Beam:
This is a wonderful liquid highlighter with a natural brightening and camouflaging effect. The pinky nude formulation is shimmer-free and blends seamlessly to radiate the undereye area or highlight the brow bones. If you enjoy the likes of YSL Touche Eclat, definitely check this one out. Read my

Watt's Up!:
A cream highlighter that's available in a stick format as a full-sized product, Watt's Up! give a classic champagne glow. The formulation is nice and creamy but it sets to a powder dry finish. Similar to High Beam, Watt's Up! has a sophisticated shimmery finish that's free of chunky glitters.

Benefit Hello San Francisglow Highlighter Kit | Watt's Up! |
Overall, this is a cute and affordable highlighting set. The unfortunate formulation difference with Dandelion Twinkle is definitely a shame but for $35, this is a great stocking stuffer. Plus, all three other products are amazing highlighters so if you've always been curious about products like High Beam and Shy Beam, give this kit a go!
