If you regularly frequent the blog, you'll know that I've been testing and reviewing quite a handful of
Lush classics lately. So today, I will be talking about the beloved
Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser ($12.95 CAD for 100g). Made with calamine powder and kaolin clay, this unique solid cleanser promises to calm and cleanse irritated, sensitive skin. So how well does it perform? Read on to find out......

Lush Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser |
Housed in a recyclable plastic tub and available in two sizes (100g or 240g), the Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser is a solid cleanser made with glycerin, calamine powder, kaolin clay, seaweed extract, aloe juice, sea salt, and orange peel oil. The product has a thick, cookie dough texture and it is wrapped with a sheet of nori seaweed. As a result, Aqua Marina gives off a subtle seaweed scent but once you scoop some out of the tub, it doesn't have much of a fragrance.

Unlike the classic holiday Buche de Noel solid cleanser (reviewed
here), Aqua Marina has a much smoother texture. Once mixed with a tiny bit of water, the product forms a smooth paste with a creamy and rich texture. Although it doesn't foam, the cleanser still manages to remove all traces of dirt and oil from the face. The product has the tendency to leave behind just a touch of a powdery, pasty residue so I would recommend using only a very small amount or following up with a foam cleanser. Lastly, Aqua Marina is technically advertised as a face
and body cleanser but I personally can't imagine using this on the body as I really prefer my body washes to be foamy and lathery.

Lush Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser |
All in all, I think Aqua Marina is a great cleanser for those with sensitive skin. The calamine powder has a calming effect that leaves the skin clean but non-irritated. My personal favorite solid cleanser from Lush is still the
Buche de Noel but Aqua Marina is definitely a nice substitute for when I run out of my holiday supply!
