Tarte | Dream Big Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette |
Tarte | Dream Big Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette ($39 CAD):
Housed in a small, travel-friendly compact with a reflective golden finish, the Dream Big palette comes with a total of eight eyeshadow shades, two at 1.8g and six at 1.1g. The overall color scheme is natural but still quite rich and exuberant. You get two mattes and the rest are shimmers/metallics.

Formulation-wise, the palette is really impressive! All the shades are very pigmented, easy-to-build, and highly blendable. The shadows also have a very yummy, sweet, vanilla fragrance, which took me by surprise. I personally think the shade selection is very versatile and easy to combine, although I would have liked a lighter highlighting shade. See below for a breakdown of all eight shades.

This Is It: A deep rose gold shimmer, This Is It is super pigmented and creamy.
All In: My favorite out of the palette, All In is a stunning coppery rose metallic. The pigmentation is off the charts and the texture is just so rich and creamy.
Go For It: When I saw this soft matte brown in the palette, I was expecting it to be very chalky and uneven. However, Go For It is surprisingly pigmented albeit slightly drier than the other shades. The color also wears a bit deeper than it appears in the pan, taking on a darker brown hue.

You Can: A cool-tone sparkly gold, You Can is pigmented and creamy.
Happening: A unique pink-plum shimmer, Happening is another very intense and buttery shade.
Hustle: Appearing as a dark brown with pink and golden micro-shimmers in the pan, Hustle swatches a lot darker than expected. The formulation is not as creamy but the pigmentation is very good!

Tarte | Dream Big Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette |
Ambitious: The staple base color, Ambitious is a soft beige cream. The pigmentation is fantastic and the texture is creamy and non-chalky.
Risktaker: A high-shine pink champagne, Risktaker is super pigmented and buttery smooth.
Below is a look I created using the palette. As you can see, the pigmentation of the shadows is just amazing! I think I may have got a little carried away and used one too many colors but the shadows are just so gorgeous that I wanted to use them all!

Tarte | Make Magic Happen Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette ($42 CAD):
Housed in a golden compact that's similar but larger than the Dream Big palette, the Make Magic Happen Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette features nine eyeshadow shades weighing at 1.3g each. It's interesting to note that this palette is made in Italy while the Dream Big palette is made in the US.

Inside the palette, you get a total of four mattes and five satin shimmers. The overall formulation is superb, the shadows have a rich, creamy texture that reminds me a lot of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Palettes (
Vol. I &
Vol. II). The color selection here is quite neutral and I love how the palette includes every shade you need to create a full eye makeup look. See below for a breakdown of all the shades.

Imagine: A soft creamy ivory, Imagine is matte but smooth and pigmented. This is
the perfect natural highlight shade in my opinion.
Abracadabra: A warm coppery bronze, Abracadabra is super pigmented and buttery smooth.
Charm: This is a sparkly dusty pink. The pigmentation is on the sheerer side but the color gives the lids a really pretty wash of shimmer.
|
Tarte | Make Magic Happen Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette |
Twinkle Twinkle: A simple shimmery gold, Twinkle Twinkle is very pigmented and creamy.
Enchantment: This is a soft pink beige matte that works perfectly as an all-over-the-lid color. Similar to Imagine, the shadow is pigmented and smooth despite being matte.
Believe It: A sophisticated taupe-gray matte, Believe It is slightly sheer but easy to blend.

Tarte | Make Magic Happen Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette |
Impress: This is a deep chocolate brown with a subtle sprinkling of tiny golden sparkles. The formulation is very pigmented albeit a tad patchy.
Fantasy: This is a pretty champagne gold. Similar to Abracadabra, the formulation is extremely pigmented and creamy.
Miracles: A soft matte plum, Miracles is slightly patchy but highly blendable.

Tarte | Make Magic Happen Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette |
Overall, these are two fantastic mini palettes from Tarte. I feel like we are constantly inundated with large, 12 to 20 shade palettes so it's actually quite refreshing to see something purse-friendly that contain all the shades you would need to create a full eye makeup look. In terms of formulation, these shadows are phenomenal as well! I think Tarte palettes have been kind of hit and miss for me but the shadows in these two are pigmented and silky smooth.
