Last year I was introduced to the up and coming skincare brand
Farmacy and I've been enjoying every single product I've tried from them. So imagine my delight when I saw their release of the new
Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer ($58 CAD). Made with Echinacea GreenEnvy Honey that's harvested right at the Farmacy farm in upstate New York, this light and refreshing moisturizer is formulated with a triple hyaluronic acid complex for a long-lasting hydration. Housed in a hexagonal glass jar that's quite befitting of the honey theme, the Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer comes with a metal scooper that's magnetically attached to the wooden lid of the jar. With a base of water and glycerin, the moisturizer is formulated with honey extract, propolis (bee glue) extract, royal jelly extract, and three variants of hyaluronic acid. In addition to visible beads of cupuacu butter that melts upon application, the moisturizer also contains the signature Farmacy ingredient: Echinacea Purpurea GreenEnvy extract, which is rich with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
As you can see, the moisturizer has a naturally milky yellow color (Farmacy does not use any artificial coloring) with visible beads of cupuacu butter dispersed throughout. I was surprised with the thin, almost gel-light consistency, which spreads and absorbs nicely into the skin. The product has a barely discernible fragrance and a tiny amount goes a long, long way. I have fairly oily skin and even the lightest moisturizers tend to feel a little heavy and greasy for the daytime. However, the formulation of Honey Drop seems just right. A tiny dab on the cheeks and the forehead leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. The formulation may not be rich enough if have very dry skin but if you have oily skin and have been looking for the perfect summertime moisturizer that's free of heavy silicones and irritating alcohols, this is the one! Overall, I am completely in love with this product because Farmacy has managed to wow yet again! The formulation is just superb and for $58 CAD, Honey Dew is pretty reasonably priced for a higher-end moisturizer.
