Packaging:
The 5.4 ml liquid eye shadow comes in a gorgeous lacquered black tube with a little block of clear window at the base revealing the shade inside. The applicator is a petal-shaped doe-foot with a very flexible neck. The applicator pulls out easily from the tube but it's actually kind of tricky putting it back in because the width of the applicator is just a tad wider than the opening of the tube and the neck of the doe-foot keeps on bending as you attempt to apply a downward pressure. If I use enough pressure and speed, I can get the applicator back into the tube with no problem but there usually ends up being a big mess around the rim.
Formulation:
With a very lightweight liquid formulation, the Shu Uemura Eye Foil Liquid Eye Shadow is available in a total of eight shades. The eyeshadows apply very smoothly and evenly and dry completely within seconds to a smudge-proof finish. Because of how quickly the product sets, you definitely have to work fast to prevent any unblended edges. The wear of these is phenomenal and they all provide a very sophisticated metallic finish that's not overly sparkly. Concept-wise, these aren't all that extraordinary but the execution of the formulation is very well done. If you want intense metallic shadows with a fade-resistant wear, definitely check these out!
Gun Metal: This is a gunmetal silver with a slightly more sparkly finish. The formulation is on the sheerer end of the spectrum but the color is very even and buildable.
Champagne Gold: This is a very pale gold metallic. The formulation is super pigmented and the finish has a very gorgeous sheen.
Yellow Gold: Just as its name suggests, this is a bright yellow gold with a sophisticated metallic finish. The formulation is super pigmented and rich.
Bronze: This is a unique orangey bronze with a super pigmented and rich formulation.
Dark Bronze: A rusty antique bronze, Dark Bronze is another very pigmented and intense metallic shadow.

Overall, I am a huge fan of these. $39 is quite a lot to spend on one eyeshadow but both in terms of pigmentation and longevity, these eyeshadow knocks it out of the park. There are intense and pigmented powder eyeshadows out there but none of them will provide the kind of effect and wear the Shu Uemura Eye Foil Liquid Eye Shadows give. Plus, with these colors you do not have to prime your lid. It's as simple as swipe, blend, and go!
