As you know, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are huge right now in skincare. Because they gently exfoliate and smooth the skin by diminishing the looks of lines, wrinkles, and uneven textures, just about every brand is incorporating AHAs in their formulation. Well today I want to share with you a handful of "glycolic glow-getters" from Pixi that are formulated with varying concentrations of glycolic acid (an AHA). With products that cleanse, tone, and exfoliate, Pixi has pretty much got all your AHA needs covered! To read on, click.....
Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser ($24 CAD):
Containing 5% glycolic acid, the Glow Mud Cleanser is formulated with aloe juice, safflower oil, diatomaceous earth, and chamomile extract. At first, I wasn't too fond of the formulation because the cleanser does not foam at all. However, as I used it more and more, I started appreciating how gentle it feels on the skin. The soft cream texture glides beautifully and does a great job at removing dirt and oil. After rinsing it off, my skin feels super smooth and hydrated, not dry or tight. Although this is a cleanser that you may have to get used to if you are unfamiliar with non-foaming formulations, it's definitely worth trying if you are looking for something that's gentle and effective.
Pixi Glow Tonic ($20 CAD for 100ml or $38 for 250ml):
One of my all-time favorite skincare products, the Pixi Glow Tonic is an alcohol-free 5% glycolic acid toner formulated with aloe juice, witch hazel, and horse chestnut extract. With a unique and refreshing fragrance, the product is gentle and calming on the skin. It leaves the skin softened and lightly moisturized but there is no sticky or greasy residue. I've been using the product since last summer and I've noticed a more refined complexion as the glycolic acid gently exfoliates and renews the skin. If you've never tried any Pixi skincare products, then this is the one to start with.
Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go ($30 CAD for 60 Pads):
This is a travel-friendly version of the Pixi Glow Tonic. It consists of 60 pre-soaked toner pads. The price of this is comparatively higher than that of the liquid Glow Tonic but these sure are convenient. I wrote a full review of the product if you are interested in reading.
Pixi Overnight Glow Serum ($34 CAD):
A more concentrated chemical peel with 10% glycolic acid, the Overnight Glow Serum is a thick, clear serum designed to stimulate cell turnover to reveal a smoother, more radiant complexion. In addition to the glycolic acid, the serum is also formulated with glycerin, aloe juice, and cucumber extract. I've been using it a few times a week by mixing a drop or two with my regular moisturizer. I have been noticing smoother and more glowy skin and I like how the product is not at all irritating or drying! If you want to delve deeper into products with AHAs, this is definitely worth checking out!
