For Spring and Summer 2017, Canadian fashion retailer Simons is making its debut in the cosmetics department with a trio of fragrances created in partnership with the Montreal-based fragrance designer Ruby Brown. Inspired by essential textiles in fashion, the Eau Contemporaine Eau de Parfum ($55 for 50ml) is available in Soie (Silk), Coton (Cotton), and Lin (Linen). The Bottle:
Housed in a simple clear glass bottle with a soft and rounded silhouette, the Eau Contemporaine in Soie has a modern and minimalistic design that still manages to be very elegant.
The Fragrance:
Opening with a fresh splash of citrus thanks to the bergamot and grapefruit, Soie quickly transitions into a feminine rose bomb that will delight any fans of rose. The notes supposedly include white tea but I personally can't detect it. The fragrance is on the lighter side so the wear is just average- four to five hours tops. Overall, I'm a fan. Soie doesn't quite fit its official description of being opulent and woody and although the fragrance profile isn't super original or unique, it still manages to please with its simple citrus rose accords.
