Given the huge success of the innovative Juicy Shakers, Lancome is introducing another unique and creative product called the Matte Shaker High Pigment Liquid Lipsticks ($29 CAD each). Promising an intense pigmentation that's two times lighter than your average liquid lipstick, the Matte Shakers are comfortable and long-wearing. Intrigued? Packaging:
Housed in an adorable martini shaker inspired tube, the Matte Shaker packaging is the same as the Juicy Shakers, except that the lid and the rim of the neck are black instead of silver. The product dispenses from four small holes directly onto a tapered dome-shaped cushion applicator. The applicator is squishy and soft and although it may seem a bit unwieldy, it actually does a great job at precisely applying the product.
Formulation:
With the initial release of the Lancome Juicy Shakers, I really didn't know what I was expecting and when Lancome announced the release of these Matte Shakers, I was again very puzzled. I didn't really think a lip oil-esque product can be matte and pigmented but Lancome proved me wrong on both accounts. With a fruity-scented, bi-phase formulation that's liquid upon application, the Matte Shakers are super pigmented. Instead of leaving a matte finish, the color simply absorbs right into the lips, leaving behind virtually no texture. Within thirty minutes, the hydrating oil feel will fade but the product does not become drying. In terms of longevity, the Matte Shaker is a champ! With normal eating, the color lasted until the end of the day with absolutely no bleeding. There were some fading but there were no flaking or unevenness. To be completely honest, these beat out the new Dior Lip Tattoos by a long shot, both in terms of color and wear.
186 Magic Orange: A surprisingly wearable mandarin orange, Magic Orange is definitely a summer color.
374 Kiss Me Cherie: The most pigmented out of the four, Kiss Me Cherie is a rich pink-based red. As the color fades, it becomes pinker and pinker.
378 Pink Power: This is a hot barbie pink that's super flattering and bold.
379 Yummy Pink: A slightly less intense pink, Yummy Pink is a bright medium pink.
Availability:
Lancome is available online and in stores at Sephora, Sears, The Bay, Shoppers, London Drugs and www.lancome.ca.
