In addition to the recent Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation shade extension (read my review here), Lancome is introducing a complementary concealer collection called the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer ($37 CAD). Available in 16 shades, this new concealer promises a high coverage and a smooth creme-fluid formulation. To see some swatches and read my review, click......
Packaging:
The Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage comes in a 12ml squeezable tube with a small pointed spout. Because the spout is so tiny, it's easy to control exactly how much concealer to dispense. The overall packaging feels a tad plain and boring but I guess that because concealers serve a more utilitarian purpose, they don't need the fanciest packaging.
Formulation:
With a viscous and slightly tacky texture, the Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer provides a nice full coverage that does a great job at neutralizing acne and blemishes. Because of the thicker consistency, the product takes some time to blend but it does have a nice natural finish that smooths over any skin textures. A setting powder is needed because the product has a slightly sticky texture even when it sets. I also tried using this concealer for my undereye area but I found the formulation to be too thick and heavy. Also, it's prone to creasing so I would not recommend these as an undereye concealer. Lastly, the wear is not great. By the end of the day, there was significant fading although it didn't get patchy or flaky.
The range is available in 16 shades. "090 Ivoire" is a very pale ivory. It is the equivalent of an NC15 or NW15. "215 Buff (N)" is a light to medium sandy beige that's similar to an NC25 or NW25.
Overall, these don't quite live up to the performance of their foundation counterpart. I like the coverage they provide but the thick and heavy texture is not suitable for all areas of the face and the wear is surprisingly lackluster.
Availability:
Lancome is available online and in stores at Sephora, Sears, The Bay, Shoppers, London Drugs and www.lancome.ca.
