Released early 2016, the Poison Girl Eau de Parfum is a reinterpretation of the iconic Dior Poison fragrance intended for a younger audience. For 2017, the perfume is getting a lighter update with the new Dior Poison Girl Eau de Toilette ($72 CAD for 30ml). Boasting a combination of sweet and bitter oranges, Poison Girl EDT also combines Grasse rose and Damask rose with a sweet tonka bean base. To read my review, click......
The Bottle:
Housed in a clear bulbous glass bottle shaped like the forbidden fruit, the Poison Girl Eau de Toilette perfume is tinted a pretty shade of pink. All around the sides of the bottle are raised black-tinted ridges that almost appear as if the bottle is grasped by an eagle's talon. The gem-like black cap has a shiny lacquered finish and the whole bottle has a very edgy and seductive feel.
The Scent:
Opening on a potent bittersweet citrus accord, Poison Girl Eau de Toilette quickly loses some of its bitterness to reveal a much sweeter, floral center. I can detect faint whispers of the rose and orange blossom but they are quickly overtaken by the sweet base of vanilla and tonka beans.
With a name like Poison Girl, I was expecting this scent to be quite sultry and intense but I am pleasantly surprised with the light and feminine profile. The opening notes are no doubt the most unique characteristic of this fragrance but even with the more common base notes, this is a very lovely and intoxicating spring and summer scent.
