New from Dior comes a brand new addition to the Dior Addict family. With 16 effortless and youthful shades, the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick ($43 CAD) promises intense color and high shine. Today I have a few colors to share with you so to read my review and see some swatches, click......
Packaging:
The Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks are housed in a gorgeous shiny black tube encased in a layer of clear pink acrylic. There is a large "Dior" logo embedded in silver on the cap and the lipstick has the classic Dior Addict knob design. The lipstick bullet has a flattened tip but because the formulation isn't super pigmented, you can get a nice and precision application without a brush or liner.
Formulation:
Advertised as a hybrid lip product that's half lacquer and half lipstick, the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick is a semi-sheer lipstick with a high-shine finish. As compared to the original Dior Addict line (full review here), the new Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks are definitely shinier and more pigmented. Additionally, these are very lightweight and slick and the coverage is even and cushioning. The colors are definitely buildable although the pigmentation level seems to vary depending on the shade. Below is a breakdown of the three shades I have.
674 K-Kiss: This is a light bright pink. The coverage is semi-sheer but highly buildable.
570 L.A. Pink: Hands down my favorite out of the three, L.A. Pink is a sophisticated rose brown. The pigmentation is quite impressive as compared to the other two. Just a few swipes provide a beautiful coverage.
577 Lazy: A light soft pink with just a hint of mauve, Lazy swatches much lighter than it appears in the tube. This shade is quite sheer and if you have naturally dark lips, it might accentuate wrinkles and fine lines.
Finally, the wear of the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick is just okay. The slick and lightweight formulation transfers easily so touch-ups are needed throughout the day. All in all, Dior has definitely created a winner. The lacquer-lipstick concept is really nothing revolutionary but the packaging and color selection is quite irresistible.
