Packaging:
The Burt's Bees Gloss Lip Crayon comes in a chubby twist-up/retractable crayon. The clear cap has a charming honeycomb pattern that's very fitting for the bee theme. The tip of the crayon has a tapered point and I find the design to be slightly troublesome as two of the tips fell right off when I tried to swatch them for the first time. It seems that a couple of the shades have a
very soft formulation that simply doesn't suit the crayon format. "401 Outback Oasis" and "413 Pink Lagoon" are so soft that I think the only way I can make them work is to melt them into lip balm tins and apply with a lip brush.

Formulation:
Made with shea butter, kendi oil that's rich in omega 3, jojoba oil, and community-sourced beeswax, the Gloss Lip Crayon features a shockingly pigmented formulation. With a melty, buttery texture that's packed with pigments, the Gloss Lip Crayons are also extremely soft. As mentioned, I had trouble with a couple of the shades breaking off from the tube, making application a bit inconvenient.

Although highly-pigmented, the wear and longevity of these are a bit lackluster. Because the formulation is so soft, it's hard to apply just a thin layer and so with a thicker application, the color tends to slide around the lips, resulting in transferring, smudging, and minor feathering. With that said, I really like the rich hydration and comfort they provide so I would recommend perhaps dabbing some product onto the center of the lips and blending outwards for a sheerer coverage. Conversely, these can be paired with a lip liner to extend the wear.
401 Outback Oasis: This is a rich and milky pinky-beige nude. The formulation is surprisingly rich and pigmented. Unfortunately, the formulation is super soft so the tip will break off with even the lightest touch.
412 Santorini Sunrise: A soft peach nude, Santorini Sunrise is also highly pigmented.
413 Pink Lagoon: With an overly melty, almost cream-like formulation, Pink Lagoon is a pale baby pink. Unfortunately, the tip broke off immediately after my first attempt to apply the color.
421 Pacific Coast: This is a stunning blue-based red that's super saturated.
431 Tahitian Sun: This is a unique medium rose. Again, the formulation is rich and pigmented.
432 Bordeaux Vines: A deep burgundy, Bordeaux Vines is very patchy and uneven. I actually had to use a lip brush for this shade because I couldn't get a clean line around my lips.
