The ever-growing Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($30 CAD) family is getting five new members this spring with the Edgy Neutrals Collection. Taking an inspiration from the world of fungi, the range boasts several one-of-a-kind beige and browns. To see some swatches and my review of each shade, click......
Packaging:
Housed in a matte gray tube, the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks have a classic slanted tip. The actual bullet is pressed with the Bite "B" logo and the cap has a curvy top. The packaging is very chic and minimalist and it has a very nice weight to it.
Formulation:
Infused with 12 edible oils and antioxidants, the Amuse Bouche Lipsticks are already some of my favorites so it's always nice to see Bite coming up with new shades. The majority of the shades in the Edgy Neutrals collection are inspired by mushroom varieties so there are a lot of beige and browns. Honestly speaking, none of these colors are quite my cup of tea but the formulation is very impressive. Not only are the lipsticks incredibly rich and creamy, they are also drenched in pigments. See below for a breakdown of the five new shades.
Cava: The only shade not inspired by mushrooms, Cava is a unique lilac beige. Pale lavenders like this tend to be crazy patchy but Cava is surprisingly pigmented and opaque.
Portobello: Hands down the most pigmented shade out of the bunch (and out of my whole lipstick collection, for that matter), Portobello is a deep yellow-brown. Unfortunately, the formulation is overly creamy and soft. After the first use, the bullet broke off from the base.
Porcini: A rich yellow-caramel brown, Porcini is super pigmented and opaque. This one looks absolutely horrendous on my skin tone but I can imagine the shade working with a darker skin tone.
Cremini: A yellow-beige brown, Cremini is another color that's definitely not made for my skin tone. The strong yellow tone made me look sickly but the pigmentation is definitely top-notch.
Enoki: Last but not least is a yellow-beige nude. Although this is the lightest shade out of the collection, it's still very nicely pigmented.
Availability:
Bite Beauty is available exclusively in stores and online at Sephora.
