Guerlain is very well known for its
La Petite Robe Noire fragrance lineup but did you know that the range also includes
color makeup? For Spring 2017, Guerlain is adding even more fun and bright products to the collection. To see some swatches of the new mascara, multi-purpose gel tint, and a new lipstick shade, click......
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip & Cheek Tinted Gel ($35 CAD):
Similar to the
Benefit Posietint and
Lollitint, the La Petite Robe Noire Lip & Cheek Tint is a multi-purpose gel color that can be used on the cheeks as a blush or on the lips as a lip tint. Housed in an adorable glass jar, the tint applies with a small plastic brush. The product is floral-scented and it feels very cooling and pleasant on the skin.
The color is a soft pink and it is easily blendable. On the cheeks, the Lip & Cheek Tint provides a weightless and natural flush while on the lips it left behind a tacky residue. I tried topping the tint with a balm to alleviate the stickiness but once the balm wears off, my lips felt icky again. So all in all, I would recommend this for the cheeks if you want a glowy, youthful blush. If you are looking for a good lip tint, I would recommend checking out the
Sephora Rouge Infusion lip tints, as those provide a bold stain that's free of any textures of tacky finishes.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Deliciously Shiny Lipstick in "073 Orchid Beanie" ($38 CAD):
A high-shine semi-sheer lipstick, the La Petite Robe Noire Deliciously Shiny Lipstick in "
073 Orchid Beanie" is a bright cool-tone pink. The lipstick has a super lightweight and slick formulation and despite being slightly sheer, the coverage is even and flattering. The wear is just okay as the light and sheer formulation is prone to transferring so you will definitely have to reapply throughout the day. The lipstick is heavily scented with a floral fragrance and the packaging is very chic with adorable crystalline details.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Lashdress Mascara ($32 CAD):
Equipped with a curious silicone wand and housed in a whimsical lacquered black tube, the La Petite Robe Noire Black Lashdress Mascara promises an all-in-one formulation that works for all lash types. The average-sized wand first tapers to a thin neck and then bulges out with a round bulb. I have fairly short and wispy lashes so I found the wand a bit difficult to use. The unwieldy bulb at the tip made it tricky to evenly coat all my lashes without inadvertently stabbing myself in the eye.
Formulation-wise, the Black Lashdress Mascara is very balanced. It's not too thick yet not too runny, providing a nice definition and lengthening effect. The mascara wasn't super volumizing but it's also not clumpy. The mascara has a lovely floral scent and it does a decent job at holding the curl. With that said, the formulation is not waterproof so you might experience minor smudging throughout the day.
