Inspired by soft watercolors and pretty pastel hues, the
Givenchy Spring 2017 Point D'Encrage Collection (translates to the "Point of Ink" collection) unveils two limited edition products. With a travel-friendly version of the classic Prisme Libre powder and a brand new gel highlighter, the collection is available now at
Sephora. To see some swatches and my review of both products, click......
Givenchy Point D’Encrage Highlighter Memoire de Forme in "01 Pik Ink"($54 CAD):
Made with 72% water, this is a bouncy gel highlighter designed for both the face and the body. The product comes in a gorgeous acrylic jar and you get a total of 30g. Because of the high water content, the Highlighter Memoire de Forme is a very sheer highlighter. It appears as a light baby pink shimmer and when blended, the gel provides no more than a subtle frosty luminosity.
The formulation won't build much so if you are looking for that intense strobing effect, this product won't get you there. However, the gel is great if you just want a soft, angelic glisten. On the face, you can use a synthetic flat-top brush to lightly tap it across the cheekbones. For the body, you can dab a small amount and blend evenly. Once set, the cooling gel evaporates completely, leaving behind a thin veil of micro-shimmers. Finally, the gel highlighter has a very subtle floral scent; it's nowhere as strong that of, say, Guerlain products, but it's definitely noticeable.
Givenchy Point D’Encrage Prisme Libre Travel Mat-finish & Enhanced Radiance Loose Powder in "01 Mousseline Pastel" ($48 CAD):
Housed in an adorable 8.5g travel-friendly plastic jar, this is a transparent setting powder that combines all four shades of the "
01 Mousseline Pastel" Prisme Libre powder. The cap of the jar twists off to reveal a flocked cushion puff that makes it easy to apply the powder on-the-go. Unfortunately, the cushion doesn't appear to be removable so it might be hard to wash it with the cap still attached.
"01 Mousseline Pastel" (see the 12g full-sized version
here) is a combination of pastel green, baby blue, soft lavender, and transparent white powders. It appears as a light lavender in the jar and it gives the skin a luminous, semi-matte finish. The powder is finely-milled and it provides a nice blurring effect. This color combo, in particular, is super brightening. As I've said many times before, I am not a big fan of loose powders. But the mess-free packaging and lovely quality of this Prisme Libre Travel powder make it one of the few exceptions!
