For Spring 2017, MAC has teamed up with three iconic makeup artists to create three stunning color collections that each reflect their unique styles. Created in partnership with celebrity makeup artist Kabuki Magic, the Make-up Art Cosmetics Kabuki Magic Dazzleshadow x 4 Palette ($42 CAD) is certainly the standout piece in this collaboration. Packaging:
The MAC Kabuki Magic Dazzleshadow x 4 palette comes in a simple square compact with a clear lid. Each shadow is 1.5 grams so you get a total of 6 grams. There's nothing too fancy with the packaging but I like the simple gold lettering embossed on the lid; it feels kind of circus-y and whimsical.
Formulation:
As its name suggests, this Dazzleshadow palette features four sparkly shimmers. All four shades are on the sheerer side. You are getting a ton of glittery goodness, but there isn't a whole lot of pigmentation. The shadows are very fall-out prone as well and although the texture isn't chalky or dry, the formulation can definitely benefit from an added touch of creaminess that would keep the shimmers from flying everywhere. I recommend using these with a very tacky primer or cream shadow that will help the sparkles adhere to the lid.
Letty Lynton: Pearly white shimmer with white glitter specks.
Heaven Loves You: Pale gold shimmer with gold sparkles.
Last Dance: Warm baby pink with iridescent pink flecks.
Humoresque: Soft burgundy shimmer with teal duo chrome sparkles.
