For Spring 2017,
Dior is expanding its beloved Dior Addict family with a new
"006 Berry" Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm ($41 CAD) shade and the new
Dior Addict Lip Scrub Sweet Exfoliating Balm ($41 CAD). To read all about these soon-to-be holy grail products, click.......
Packaging:
Both new additions are housed in the classic Dior Addict light pink lipstick case. The shiny silver lipstick tube has the iconic knob handle etched with the "CD" initial so even the lip scrub looks as luxurious as ever!
Formulation:
With a dash of sugar grains dispersed within the mango-infused balm, the
Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub ($41 CAD) goes on a little gritty but as soon as the sugar dissolves, it becomes a hydrating lip balm that gives the lips a soft hint of pink. So unlike your typical lip scrub, the Dior Addict Lip Scrub does not need to be washed off or wiped away. In terms of effectivity, this lip scrub is not the most exfoliating scrub I've tried but its main appeal is that you can quickly dab this on in the morning and be out the door right away. The scrub also has a soft minty flavor and in terms of wear and hydration, it is very similar to the Dior Lip Glow. The only difference I can tell is that the Lip Sugar Scrub has a slightly less tacky finish once all the sugar crystals have dissolved.
The new
Dior Addict Lip Glow Reviver Balm in "006 Berry" ($41 CAD) appears as a deep plum in the tube but on the lips it is a soft pink. The color is just a tad pinker and deeper than "005 Lilac", which
I reviewed last year and added onto my
Best of 2016 list. The balm gives the lips a natural shine and it is very nourishing. Even when the color wears away, the lips remain nicely tinted. The Lip Glow has a slightly tacky finish but other than that it is a beautiful tinted balm with a very luxurious packaging.
