Packaging:
The Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipsticks come in a beautiful lacquered black tube embossed with the brand logo in a red paint. The cap snaps close with two small magnets at the base of the lipstick. The design is obviously very luxurious and snazzy but I find that I have to line the cap up just so or the cap will not lock in place magnetically. This is not a huge deal but sometimes if you are in a hurry, the cap may end up falling off in your purse which is not a great thing.
Formulation:
Infused with hyaluronic acid, the Shiseido Rouge Rouge lipsticks are available in 16 variations of reds. The formulation is incredibly silky, slick, and lightweight. I love how the texture glides so smoothly on the lips and keeps them feeling hydrated for quite a few hours. In terms of pigmentation, both shades I have here are very good. These are not ultra pigmented but with a few swipes the coverage is even and opaque. The Rouge Rouge lipsticks have a natural sheen and while the wear is not super long-lasting, the pigments cling nicely to the lips even when the shine wears off.
Rose Crush: A sophisticated rosy brown, Rose Crush is a great "my lips but better" shade. The pigmentation is beautiful and the coverage is nice and even.
Real Ruby: This is a rich true red with just a hint of micro-shimmers. The color is bold but easy-to-wear and it's very flattering on my NC20 skin tone. The pigmentation is an A+, absolutely perfect in every which way.
