I love liquid lipsticks and
Stila was arguably the brand that really started it all. For every holiday season, Stila comes up with some great value sets containing its beloved Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks and for this year, the brand has an amazing five-shade set called the

Packaging:
The Stay All Day, Sparkle All Night Liquid Lipstick set comes in a pretty holiday-themed box covered in snowflake designs. In the set you get five mini Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, three of which are preexisting shades from the permanent collection (Bacca, Patina, Baci) and two are brand new for this set (Fresco and Rubino). Additionally, you get a sparkly "lip top coat" called "Transcend". All five products come in small gloss tubes equipped with a tapered doe-foot applicator. The liquid lipsticks are 1.5ml each while the Glitterati Lip Top Coat is 1.2ml.
I'm not sure what 1.2ml looks like but it seems that some of the Glitterati Lip Top Coat has evaporated because the tube is not even half full. This kind of reminds me of the
liquid primer from Stila's Magnificent Metal Foil Eye Shadow, which was also not even half-way filled. I reckon that the liquid base for the Lip Top Coat either evaporated or leaked during shipping and storage. So perhaps when purchasing yours just keep an eye out for almost empty tubes.
Formulation:
The Stila Liquid Lipstick remain one of my favorite liquid lipsticks to date, despite the fact that every single brand is coming out with their own nowadays. These have a creamy and smooth texture upon application and dries to a completely matte and transfer-proof finish. Although there is some variation in pigmentation, the shades are generally very opaque and the product layers well if you happen to make a mistake and want to go back in to retrace any lines.
The wear is excellent and easily withstands a regular meal. Admittedly the formulation can feel drying on the lips but that's really the price to pay in exchange for transfer- and smudge-proof wear!
Rubino (NEW): A deep and rich red with just a hint of brown; the pigmentation is superb so you really only need one swipe to provide an opaque coverage.
Baci: This is a pale mauve nude that I've reviewed
previously; I don't think this would be a very flattering on most skin tones but the formulation is good.
Fresco (NEW): A warm beige nude, Fresco is nice and even. Again, this is not really my cup of tea but the color didn't wash me out as much as I expected.
Patina: This is a beautiful rosy nude. The pigmentation is very good.
Bacca: A shade I've previously reviewed
here, Bacca is a deep raspberry red. The formulation is slightly finicky because it's not super opaque. As a result, you have to load just the right amount of product on the applicator so that you can achieve an even and opaque coverage in one coat. Going in with a second coat is fine but it creates a much darker color that also feels a bit thick on the lips.
Lastly included in this set is a brand new product from Stila called the Glitterati Lip Top Coat in "Transcend". The product consists of a very thin and runny base suspended with very fine iridescent shimmers. Because the base is so thin, the glitters settle easily to the bottom of the tube so before each use you have to shake it very well.
The product applies a bit unevenly and as it sets the liquid base evaporates completely to leave only the shimmers on the lips. The shimmers look beautiful in the tubes but I don't love how it looks on the lips. The color of the shine is just a bit too cool; if you are creating a fairy or mermaid look for Halloween this could work but for Christmas or any other major holidays the shine is just a bit too costumey. Last but not least, the Glitterati Top Coat disrupts the wear of the liquid lipstick underneath. The color will still be fairly smudge-proof but it's not as long-wearing as before and it may be prone to transferring.
