Each year
Givenchy releases limited edition packagings of its bestsellers, all dressed up in gorgeous, specially designed prints inspired by Givenchy's runway trends. This year the
Edition Couture Collection features a beautiful pink and white magnolia floral pattern printed on genuine leather. To see some swatches and my review of the Prisme Libre Loose Powder and the Le Rouge Lipstick, click.......
Housed in a four-compartment square jar, this multi-tone loose powder has a beautiful genuine leather-covered cap printed with a beautiful magnolia floral print. "1 Mousseline Pastel" is a permanent quad from Givenchy and it consists of a soft green, blue, purple, and white (transparent) powder. The product comes with small face puff and Givenchy advises inverting the jar while holding the puff in place to dispense small amounts at a time. I found that with this method not a lot of powder comes out so I actually took out the puff, put the cap on, and gently shook out some products. I accidently got out too much but having an easily accessible reservoir in the puff compartment makes the application much more convenient.

Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder |
I have never been a fan of loose powders because I find them way too inconvenient and messy but the Givenchy Prisme Libre gives a nice enough effect that I can look past the packaging format. The blend of the lightly tinted powders blur the pores and instantly adds a beautiful glow to the skin. Infused with a subtle floral fragrance, the powder also adds a subtle color-correction effect. This provides minimal coverage but used on top of a foundation or BB cream, the powder literally gives an Instagram filter blur. The effect is definitely better than any translucent powders I have used but this particular shade combo is most suitable for fair to light skin, not medium to dark as it may leave behind a dusky, ashy tint.
Givenchy Edition Couture 2016 Le Rouge Intense Color Sensuously Mat Lip Color in "N306 Carmin Escarpin" ($44 CAD):
A stunning candy apple red, "
N306 Carmin Escarpin" is a permanent shade from Givenchy's Le Rouge range. However, this limited edition comes in a beautiful magnolia-printed genuine leather lid adorned with silver studs on the base. The actual bullet is pressed with the iconic Givenchy logo and the lipstick has a luxurious weight to it.
Formulation-wise, this is a gorgeous red; it is translucent but buildable to a very intense color. Slick, buttery, and incredibly lightweight, "306 Carmin Escarpin" makes the lips look super plump and shiny. With that said, the wear is just okay; because the color is so slick and gel-like, it easily transfers and smudges so a transparent lip liner may be helpful. The lipstick doesn't really have a noticeable scent as far as I can tell. Overall I love both products; they are slightly more expensive compared to their permanent edition counterparts but the limited edition packaging is truly beautiful and collector-worthy!
