The Fall 2016 Chanel Le Rouge N°1 Collection is all about reds so what better way to wear this timeless color than sporting some polished red nails. Today I have swatches of both reds from the collection to share with you: a classic true red and a translucent red "nail gloss". To read on, click.......
Chanel Le Vernis in "528 Rouge Puissant" ($32 CAD):
A beautiful classic red cream, "528 Rouge Puissant"'s formulation is just top-notch! The polish is buttery, smooth, and richly pigmented. For the swatches below, I used two coats with no top coat.

Similar to "683 Sunrise Trip" from the Spring 2016 Collection, "530 Rouge Radical" is a bright and sunny red-jelly. Unlike your traditional "nail gloss", though, this polish is quite pigmented while still retaining that squishy translucent finish. I only needed two coats for the beautiful coverage seen in the swatches below. The polish looks great on its own but it can also be added to another polish as a tinted top coat (see last photo). My only criticism of the formulation is the slightly longer drying time so do allow extra time for the polish to completely harden.
