Hailing from the K-Beauty realm and introduced to the North American makeup market not too long ago, the "cushion" trend is showing no signs of stopping and recently,
Lancome introduced a line of cushion blushes called the
Cushion Blush Stubtil ($45 CAD). Available in four universally flattering shades, the Cushion Blush Subtil promises a "vibrant color with a dewy glow". To see some swatches and my thoughts on the formulation, click.......
Packaging:
The Cushion Blush Subtil comes in a sleek and shiny black compact. The lid is embossed with the beautiful Lancome rose in pink. On the inside there are two compartments, the upper one holds a small sponge pad applicator and the bottom holds the actual blush cushion. The sponge is very well-soaked with the product so you won't need to press very hard to load the sponge. There is a nice mirror on the underside of the lid as well.
Formulation:
The Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil is a liquid blush drenched in a very absorptive sponge. The creamy liquid blushes look very bright in the compact; however, when you actually apply them, they are quite sheer but buildable. By tapping on the blush with the sponge applicator, the color applies very naturally. The product sets quickly to a slightly dewy finish. My only critique is the wear, the color seems to fade quite quickly over the day (do note that I have fairly oily skin). I opted for a more natural application but by midday, barely any color remained so it may be wise to apply a bit extra to begin with.
"
025 Sorbet Grenadine" is a beautiful soft coral and "
023 Cerise Givree" is a medium pink. The swatches below are very heavy swipes of both colors, which you can see are still quite sheer. Both shades provide a very natural and flushed effect, great for that effortless everyday look.
Availability:
Lancome is available
online and in stores at Sephora, Lancome, The Bay, Nordstrom, and Holt Renfrew.
