Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder ($38 CAD):
A super lightweight setting powder made with silky mica powder, the Lock-It Setting Powder comes in a simple clear jar with a nicely embossed black lid. The sifter holes make up a star design, inspired by Kat Von D's signature star tattoos. The powder is supposedly translucent. However, it has a subtle whitish tint, which is totally fine for light to medium skin tones but it will definitely look ashy on darker skin tones.

I like how soft and smooth the powder feels on the skin but the application didn't wow me. The finish isn't very matte and I feel that the powder was too thin to truly even out pores and fine lines. A lot of times, I like to use a powder over just concealer so it definitely needs to be cushioning. However, this one just didn't quite provide the ultra-smooth and even finish I wanted. With that said, if you are used to applying full-face foundation, then this powder should provide a good enough finish.
Additionally, the powder didn't work very well with my oily skin. The satin finish turned greasy very quickly within just an hour or two, which is pretty much what I get without a powder.

Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder Brush ($47 CAD):
This is a loose powder brush designed especially for the Lock-It Setting Powder. Made of synthetic fibers, the brush is dome shaped with a slightly tapered end. The bristles are ultra soft and fine and there is absolutely no shedding. I really like the beautiful elongated handle, embossed with the KVD logo in a shiny silver finish.
The brush is definitely designed for a lighter dusting as opposed to a heavy application. The tapered design makes it easy to use around the nose and under the eyes as well.
