Too Faced expanded the Melted lips range with the new
Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks ($25 CAD each). Available in a wide selection of bold colors, these new liquid lipsticks feature an ultra pigmented and long-lasting formulation. To read my reviews of a couple of shades, click........
Packaging:
The Melted Matte liquid lipsticks come in hard plastic lip gloss tubes shaped like a squeeze tube. The tube has raised embossings along the side and the doe-foot applicator has an angled and tapered applicator. I really like the packaging of these compared to that of the original Melted lip colors. The skinnier wand provides a much more precise application and the plastic tubes just look fancier and more luxurious.
Formulation:
The new Melted Mattes are matte liquid lipsticks that fully set to a smudge and transfer-free finish. The formulation is super pigmented. "
It's Happening!" is a bold, retina-searing hot fuchsia; the color is super smooth and opaque, a little product goes a long way. "
Feelin' Myself" is a medium peach. This shade is also very pigmented but the formulation is strangely chunky. It seems to have small bits of pigment debris scattered throughout and the color dries down to a thicker texture. The coverage is also a tad streaky.
The wear of these is definitely comparable to that of liquid lipsticks from Stila and Kat Von D. The colors completely set so there is absolutely no smudging unless you are eating a lot of greasy food. The formulation is slightly drying but that's the compromise with long-lasting liquid lipsticks.
