If you are following the current makeup trends, you'd know that cushion products are huge right now so it was only a matter of time before THEFACESHOP released a line of cushion blushes. Currently available in two shades and formulated with hyaluronic acid, the Hydro Cushion Blush ($15 CAD) promises to provide the cheeks with a soft wash of hydrating color. Packaging:
The Hydro Cushion Blush comes in an adorably round plastic compact. The compact opens to reveal a small sponge applicator and a mini mirror on the underside of the lid. The liquid blush inside is held in place with a thick piece of sponge and to apply, you would simply dab the sponge applicator into the sponge cushion and pat the product on your cheeks. I personally find this method a bit wasteful as the sponge applicator absorbs quite a bit of the blush. With that said, directly using my fingers to apply feels a bit unsanitary.
Also, I found it quite interesting that the label listed this blush as containing 7g of products. Considering that the product is actually liquid, I'm not sure if the 7g refers to the weight of the sponge plus the product or if the 7g is equivalent to 7ml.

Formulation:
The Hydro Cushion Blush is a liquid blush housed in a thick layer of absorbent sponge cushion. The formulation contains hyaluronic acid for hydration and crushed crystal powder for some added radiance. There doesn't seem to be a ton of liquid (blush) stored in the sponge cushion so not a lot gets dispensed when you pat the sponge applicator onto the cushion. "01 Pink" is a very soft rosy pink; the color is pretty sheer and the formulation sets quickly to a powder-like finish with no visible shimmers.

The blush applies very naturally and it gives the cheeks a super soft glow. However, because the color is so soft, it doesn't really build up to a more intense effect. The wear of this is really nice, the color clings well to the skin but it's not drying. It provides a long-lasting, smudge-free wear.
Overall I think this is a great product, I am not a huge fan of the whole cushion packaging trend but I do love the formulation of the blush. There are two shades in this line, the pink you see here and a super soft peach. Both look like very natural shades so I do wish THEFACESHOP will release a few brighter, more vibrant colors for summer!
