The Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup & Concealer comes in a simple plastic compact with a pretty and unique design. Underneath the clear lid are three compartments: the first holds 1.3 grams of concealer, the second holds 11 grams of cream foundation, and the third holds a small mirror (located on the underside of the second compartment) and a soft sponge applicator.
Formulation:
The main feature of this compact is that it contains a colour-matched foundation and concealer. A lot of brands offer complementary foundation and concealer shades but Revlon definitely makes the process easier by including both in one convenient compact! The shade I have here is “150 Buff”, a light ivory comparable to NC20. The concealer is slightly lighter than the foundation, which I really appreciate because I mainly use concealers for my under eye area, where I want a bit more brightening and radiance.
I am usually not a fan of cream foundations due to their heavier and greasier formulation but the Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup & Concealer has a really lightweight, comfortable, and semi-matte wear! The formulation almost has a cream-to-powder feel, although I would still recommend setting it with a powder. For my swatches below, I did a full application but both the foundation and the concealer provide a medium to full coverage, camouflaging almost all of my blemishes. The concealer, in particular, is really great! It has a thicker texture that clings nicely to the skin, preventing any creasing or caking. The foundation is also very nice, although I do wish it’s a bit more cushioning as I have a lot of dry patches around my jawline. I also experienced a bit of creasing around my nose.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this foundation. For someone who’s always rushing out the door with very little time to do my makeup, I really appreciate the inclusion of a complementary concealer and foundation in one compact. In terms of the formulation, both the foundation and the concealer provide an opaque and even coverage that feels comfortable throughout the day.
