I love it when OPI releases new locale-inspired collections and the destination chosen for Summer 2016 is just wonderful! Inspired by the colorful and culturally-rich city of New Orleans, the OPI New Orleans Collection ($10 USD or $12.50 CAD each) features 12 vibrant and rich colors. This collection is mostly creams and as a devout fan of cream colors, I'm completely in love! To see some swatches, click.....
She's a Bad Muffuletta!:
Most of the colors from this collection is named after New Orleans cuisine so get ready for some hilarious and delicious puns. Muffuletta is a type of sandwich made with Sicilian sesame bread (I looked this up) and She's a Bad Muffuletta! is a beautifully saturated hot coral cream. The formulation is absolutely divine and I think the color is almost a perfect dupe for my beloved "Coral of the Story" from Nicole by OPI.

A pretty pink coral cream, this shade has a nice formulation. I was able to use two coats for a decent coverage but on a few nails I had to go in with a third to achieve an absolutely even and opaque finish.
Got Myself into a Jam-Balaya, three coats with no top coat. |
This is a pale orange-coral with a cream finish. The formulation is not too bad for a color like this, I used three coats for the swatches below.
Crawfishin' for a Compliment, three coats with no top coat. |
A light baby pink, Suzi Nails New Orleans has a decent formulation but the color is not very original. I used three coats for the swatches below.

A very unique color out of the 12, Humidi-Tea is a lovely rosy tea frost/shimmer. The formulation is a bit sheer but easy to work with; I used two to three coats for the swatches below.

A pale pearly pink shimmer, Let Me Bayou a Drink is one of my least favorite shades from the collection. The formulation is super sheer, I had to use three coats for the swatches below yet I still felt like it wasn't completely opaque.

A reflective pale gold shimmer, this shade is surprisingly lovely and metallic! The formulation seemed really sheer after one coat, but after adding another coat, the finish turned quite opaque and shiny.
Take a Right on Bourbon, two coats with no top coat. |
A rich grape purple, I Manicure for Beads is yet another fantastic cream from the collection. The formulation is a rich and pigmented two-coat perfection.

Named after the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, this shade is an absolutely lovely plummy magenta. The formulation is saturated and buttery, almost a one-coat wonder (but I used two coats just in case).
Spare Me a French Quarter?, two coats with no top coat. |
This is a beautiful medium green with a lovely formulation. The shade actually reminds me a lot of one of my favorite OPI shades called Green-wich Village. If you love a good, simple green cream, definitely check this one out!
I'm Sooo Swamped!, two coats with no top coat. |
An eye-catching cornflower blue, Rich Girls & Po-Boys is another wonderful cream from the collection! The formulation is super rich and easy to work with; I used two coats in the swatches below.

Take a second to appreciate the Mardi Gras joke in this shade name.... Show Us Your Tips is a light periwinkle blue scattered with pretty iridescent shimmers. The formulation is very sheer and difficult to work with. I had to use three coats for the swatches below yet the finish is still not that even. I recommend using this over a cream base instead of wearing it on its own.
