When it comes to underrated makeup brands, Pür definitely comes to my mind. I feel like this is a brand that needs a much wider and bigger fan base, especially after trying out their Eye Polish Base + Top Coat ($32 CAD) eyeshadow. So without further ado, let's take a look at this liquid shadow that promises intense color and long-lasting wear......
Packaging:
The Pür Eye Polish comes in a cute little jar with a mesh opening similar to that of the Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush. Included is a flat silicone-tipped applicator. It is designed for a more intense and defined application, although I found that using my fingertips was just fine.
Formulation:
This product is named the Eye Polish Base + Top Coat because it can be used as a base for powder shadows, on its own as an eye color, or over powder shadows as a shadow enhancer. The formulation is a lightweight viscous liquid. It's packed with pigments and shimmers suspended in the shadow base. The shadow applied really beautifully (with the included applicator or with just the fingertips) and it sets to a powder finish.
"Silk" is an incredibly stunning bronze rose gold. The color is metallic and reflective. When applied with the silicone applicator, you can get a very intense and opaque finish while applying with the fingertips gives a slightly softer and more blended look. The wear of the shadow is wonderful as well; it seems to have a built-in primer that allows the pigments to adhere really nicely to the skin. The shadow will still transfer if you graze it with your fingers (as would any ordinary powder shadow) but nevertheless, you can get an all-day-wear.
To be honest, I feel like the Pür Eye Polishes are what the Dior Addict Fluid Shadows aspired but failed to be. So if you love intense, shimmery, and pigmented shadows, definitely check these out!
Availability:
Pür is available in stores at Shoppers Drug Mart and online at www.beautyboutique.ca.
