As you probably have heard by now, there is a new Naked palette in town and this time the theme is smoky greys. Filled with twelve gorgeously smoldering shades, the
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette ($64 CAD) comes in a snazzy palette that's sleeker than ever. To see some swatches, click......
Packaging:
The Naked Smoky Palette comes in a gorgeous semi-translucent plastic compact with a swirly smoky pattern. The Urban Decay logo on the front of the lid has nice raised detailings and the palette is equipped with convenient magnetic closures. The inside has a large mirror and it comes with a duo-ended shadow brush. One end of the brush is a fluffy blending brush and the other a medium-sized pencil smudger brush.
Formulation:
High: Gorgeous pink champagne shimmer, super rich and buttery.
Dirtysweet: Dull golden brown metallic, smooth and pigmented.
Radar: Light brown with golden sparkles, the formulation is disappointingly sheer.
Armor: Taupe-y grey metallic packed with silver sparkles, the formulation is super buttery and pigmented.
Slanted: Light grey with subtle silver sparkles, the texture is super soft and creamy.
Dagger: This a medium grey with satin finish, the pigmentation is incredibly rich and pigmented.
Black Market: Dark black grey with a satin finish, a tad sheer and patchy.
Smolder: Deep plum with a satin finish, the pigmentation is decent but not as intense as it appears in the pan.
Password: Medium grey matte, this one is a bit patchy.
Whiskey: Cool-tone brown matte, it's soft and pigmented.
Combust: Pinky smoky beige, the formulation is matte but creamy.
Thirteen: Creamy white matte, the pigmentation is super intense and the finish is smooth and buttery.
Overall:
This is a palette great for those that love greys. I enjoy the majority of the shades here and there is a nice variation of finishes. With that said, though, a few of these are disappointingly patchy (Password, Black Markey, Radar), which is not what I would normally expect from Urban Decay.
Overall, this is a great addition to the Naked range and the packaging alone makes it a must-have for anyone that loves UD palettes.
