For September, Clarins is releasing a 25-shade lipstick collection. Promising to be pigmented, rich, and long-wearing, the Joli Rouge Moisturizing Long-Wearing Lipsticks ($27 CAD) are formulated with mango butter and salicornia extract. The Joli Rouge Lipsticks come in luxury shiny gold bullets. The caps have a tiny "C" for Clarins and the lipsticks have a really nice weight to them.

With a very slick and hydrating formulation, the Joli Rouge Lipsticks are very plumping with a natural sheen. Both colors I have swatched here are very pigmented, yet they are also a bit translucent at the same time. "744 Soft Plum" is a smoky mauve with a subtle iridescence that's not very noticeable on the lips. "742 Joli Rouge" is a bright cherry tomato red, it's a bold color but the translucency tones it down for everyday wear. In terms of longevity, these are a bit disappointing. The slick formulation doesn't adhere very well to the lips so light drinking and eating will cause fading and transferring.

Overall:
The slick and pigmented formulation of these reminds me a lot of the Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks. The texture is super hydrating and the colors are really plumping; however, the wear is a bit lacking.
Clarins is available online and in stores at The Bay, Shoppers, London Drugs, and Sears.
