Birchbox Canada Subscription: July 2015 Unboxing

I've been out of subscription box loop for a couple of years now but Birchbox Canada ($10/month, $4.95 for shipping) seems to be bringing back the beauty subscription fad. For July, the team at Birchbox is teaming up with Best Health magazine to bring you a box of goodies that will help you enjoy your best summer yet. 1. Acure Organics Sensitive Facial Cleanser (30ml sample, $14.99 CAD for Full-size)
This is a simple foaming cleanser. I gave it a go, it's very gentle but nothing special.

2. Bain de Terre Argan Oil & Passion Flower Color Therapy Styling Oil (15ml sample, $14.65 CAD for Full-size)
This is a lightweight hair oil made with various essential oils. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm always up for some hair oils. Tiny bottles like these are also perfect for travelling.

3. Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara (30g sample, $29 CAD for Full-size)
A bestselling mascara from Benefit, They're Real Mascara promises falsie-like lashes with just a sweep of the wand. I've tried this before, the formulation is too wet for my short Asian lashes so it weighed them down almost immediately.

4. Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo (30ml sample, $36 CAD for Full-size)

This is a vitamin-rich moisturizing shampoo filled with botanical extracts. I'm packing this away so I can bring it with me on my next vacation.

5. Vasanti Cosmetics Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (20g sample, $34 CAD for Full-size)

This has got to be the third or fourth time I've received this scrub in a subscription box. The Vasanti Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator is an amazingly potent yet gentle face scrub, it leaves the skin super refined and smooth. With that said, though, I'm pretty disappointed that Birchbox included this because I feel like if you've ever subscribed to a beauty box, you've definitely tried this.

Overall:

This is a skincare/hair product heavy box. I'm a little letdown, simply because there was no standout product. Additionally, both the They're Real Mascara and the Vasanti scrub are samples I've seen many, many times before in various subscription boxes. I believe subscription boxes are great for trying out samples of new products, so to see reoccurring samples is definitely not a good thing.
