For Summer 2015, Yves Saint Laurent has released a line of ten-shade liquid shadows with a gorgeous metallic finish. The Full Metal Shadow ($32 CAD) promises a sixteen-hour wear and a creaseless, fade-free formulation. To see some swatches and read my review, click......
Packaging:
The YSL Full Metal Shadows come in really fancy lip gloss tubes. The cap is golden and there is a gorgeous shiny silver design around the tube bearing the YSL logo. The doe-foot applicator has an interesting curvy shape, made to accommodate the curve of the eyelid.
Formulation:
Right off the bat these Full Metal Shadows remind me of the Armani Eye Tints, a cream-to-powder eyeshadow. However, these YSL shadows feel a bit lacking compared to the Armani Eye Tints in several ways.
Firstly, the Full Metal Shadows are not very pigmented, the formulation is quite sheer; the color is buildable, but it's mostly shimmers. Secondly, the formulation doesn't set perfectly so the shimmer will transfer. With that said though, if you have normal to dry skin, there shouldn't be too much fading. I tried pairing these with powder shadows, but the result wasn't great because the powders don't blend very nicely with the texture of these.
Additionally, these shadows are forty percent water, so they feel very nice and cooling upon application.
9 Misty Green is a vibrant seafoam green, 1 Grey Splash is a silvery gunmetal, and 3 Taupe is a sparkly taupe brown.

The YSL Full Metal Shadows feature a cooling, creamy liquid-to-powder formulation. The pigmentation is a bit lacking and the color doesn't set completely which means the shimmers will transfer. If you enjoy shadows like these, I would recommend checking out the Armani Eye Tints which I enjoyed a lot more.
Availability:
YSL is available online and in stores at Sephora, The Bay, and Holt Renfrew.
