In addition to the Summer 2015 range, Essie has released a Neon 2015 Collection, along with the core colors. This six-piece collection includes some very bright full coverage shades, perfect for hot summer days and fun summer nights. To see some swatches, click.......
Vibrant Vibes:
A fresh light green, Vibrant Vibes is a sheer polish with a thick formulation. Although not difficult to work with, the polish required three coats and thus a long drying time. There was some unevenness and the finish is quite dull, almost latex-like. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you are very patient with your manicures.
Vibrant Vibes, three coats with no top coat |
This is a pretty plum with a nice and smooth formulation. I used two coats for the swatches below. The finish is decently shiny.
Coacha'bella, two coats with no top coat |
This is a gorgeous sky blue cream. The formulation is an absolute dream-smooth and pigmented- it only needs two coats for opacity.
Make Some Noise, two coats with no top coat |
A medium blue-green cream, Melody Maker is just like Make Some Noise, very pigmented and very smooth. I used two coats for the swatches below.
Melody Maker, two coats with no top coat |
This is a medium periwinkle cream with a fairly sheer formulation. I used two coats for some nails and three for a few others. I feel like for a color like this the formulation shouldn't be so problematic. Unfortunately, this one was a bit of a letdown.
All Access Pass, three coats with no top coat |
There are a couple of misses (Vibrant Vibes and All Access Pass), but the majority of shades from this collection is very smooth and pigmented. My personal favorites are Melody Maker and Make Some Noise, although these must be paired with a good base coat to prevent staining.
