The beautiful
Cheek Pop Blushes ($24 CAD) released by
Clinique a couple years ago literally took the beauty community by storm and this summer, Clinique is bestowing upon us an array of new shades, including a coca cola burgundy and a soft lavender. Today I have a few picks from the new shades to share with you, to see some swatches, click.......
Packaging:
The Clinique Cheek Pops come in simple clear acrylic compacts. The blush is pressed with a daisy flower design that's exquisite enough to make you never want to ruin the design.
Formulation & Shades:
In my previous reviews of the Clinique Cheek Pops, I've mentioned that the blush has a baked texture that's not very creamy and smooth. However, it feels like the new shades have a softer, slightly more pigmented formulation. The color payoff is good and I enjoy the fact that these are shimmer free, although they all have a natural sheen. In terms of wear, all the shades last really well.
08 Melon Pop: A soft cantaloupe orange, this shade is a tad sheer but the color is buildable.
13 Rosy Pop: This is a gorgeous medium rose. The pigmentation is great!
14 Heather Pop: This is a gingery mauve-y rose, a very flattering shade.
15 Pansy Pop: A fun pale lavender, Pansy Pop looks more like a cool pink on the cheeks. It's surprisingly wearable but the pigmentation is a bit sheer.
Overall:
These new shades of Cheek Pops are absolutely gorgeous! The formulation feels slightly softer and creamier than the original shades. Rosy Pop and Heather Pop are nicely pigmented while Melon Pop and Pansy Pop are sheer but buildable.
