I love face wipes and because I'm always swatching products for the blog, I can finish up a pack in no time. However, not all face wipes are created equal: some are too thin, too dry, too small, or too abrasive. So today I want to talk about two new wipes from Burt's Bees and see how they stand up to the test........
Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes ($9.99 CAD for 30 sheets):
Made with grapeseed oil, aloe leaf juice, and soybean oil, this is a gentle yet cleansing face wipe designed for normal to oily skin. The wipes come in a bag fit with a resealable plastic lid. Reasonably sized and moistened, the wipes have a very refreshing grapefruit scent. These are great at removing face makeup and most eye makeup, but they are no rival for waterproof mascaras and liners (a sheet will help remove most but not all traces).
Pink Grapefruit Face Wipes |
Slightly textured and made with aloe, peach, and willow extract, these lightly exfoliating face wipes are designed for dry to normal skin. Although I can see the wavy quilted pattern on these wipes, I actually don't find them to be that much more exfoliative compared to the Pink Grapefruit wipes.
The sizes of these are the same as the Pink Grapefruit ones, but these have a subtle peach scent. These wipes are also great at removing face makeup, but they don't do so well with waterproof eye makeup.
Update: After finishing the whole packaging, I've found the formulation of this towelette to be a bit harsh. When I use it on my face, it makes my skin uncomfortably tingly.
Peach and Willow Bark Exfoliating Face Wipes |
Both wipes are really great. Generously-sized and perfectly moistened, the wipes work really well at removing face makeup. The Exfoliating Peach and Willow Bark wipes are not as exfoliative as I would have preferred and because it comes with five sheets less than the Pink Grapefruit at the same price, I prefer the Pink Grapefruit a bit more.
