My Summer 2015 Urban Decay collection reviews continue on the blog today with the brand new Revolution High-Color Lipglosses ($22 CAD each). Ultra high-coverage and hydrating, the new glosses come in an array of eye-catching shades, ranging from fan favorites to brand new additions. To see some swatches, click......
Packaging:
The Revolution glosses come in flat, faceted-clear tubes with shiny gunmetal accents. The doe-foot applicator is pointed at the tip and is tapered along the sides. The overall design is very sleek and cool.
Formulation:
As their name promises, the Revolution High-Color Lipglosses are indeed very pigmented. The silky texture is very moisturizing and non-sticky. The only issue I had was with some of the non-shimmery shades.
Though pigmented, the cream shades were slightly challenging to apply evenly without patchiness. It may be my application technique but the non-sticky formulation actually causes the gloss to shift around on the lips more easily, thus resulting in a less even finish. With that said though, if you stick to only a very thin layer, the problem isn't as serious and with the shimmery shades, the application was much better.
Brickhouse: Vampy dark red, super pigmented but slightlt patchy.
Assasin: Bright candy apple red with pink and silver shimmers. This one is surprinsgly flattering and the application was superb.
Vice: Dark plum with shimmers. Application was slightly patchy.
Bittersweet: Daring purple with no shimmers. Not a color I would normally wear but it's pretty eye-catching. Again the finish was slightly patchy.
Big Bang: Hot Barbie pink with glitters. The finish is very nice and even.

These glosses are super pigmented and non-sticky. As mentioned above, the hydrating formulation doesn't cling well to the lips which results in the non-shimmery shades to appear patchy and uneven. To avoid the patchiness, a thinner coat should be used but the finish won't be as intense and shiny.
